The 2023 El Coro Vineyard Pinot Noir is a stunning representation of the Petaluma Gap’s cool coastal climate. A wet winter and extended, cooler spring delayed the growing season, leading to a longer, mild season that nurtured the fruit to its full potential—resulting in deep complexity, refined structure, and exceptional balance.
This wine presents a striking medium ruby red color with a delicate pink rim. On the nose, vibrant aromas of blueberry, dark cherry, and raspberry are complemented by floral rose, smoky undertones, caramel, and a touch of lavender. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a lively mix of pomegranate, red currant, and strawberry, enriched by subtle notes of red licorice, cola, and roasted walnut. The finish is smooth and lingering, beautifully balancing fruit and savory nuances for a refined and expressive tasting experience.
Aged for 11 months in French oak (21% new), this Pinot Noir from the volcanic adobe clay soils of El Coro Vineyard embodies the spirit of Sonoma Coast and is a true standout in the Petaluma Gap.
