Order Processing & Shipping Policies
Order Fulfillment Timeline
Once your order is submitted, please allow 24–48 hours for processing before shipment. While we aim to fulfill orders promptly, same-day shipping is not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to inventory relocation or order-specific issues. If any delays arise, a team member will contact you directly with updates.
Shipping Compliance by State
Due to varying state laws regarding wine shipments, we comply with all applicable regulations, including:
- Volume limits
- Restrictions on direct-to-consumer shipping
If your order exceeds your state’s volume limit, a member of our team will contact you
Weather Holds & Temperature-Controlled Shipping
Weather Hold Policy
To protect your wine during transit, orders may be placed on weather hold if temperatures fall outside our shipping guidelines. Affected states will be noted during checkout and in your confirmation email. It is the customer’s responsibility to confirm whether their state is under a weather hold.
If you choose to bypass a weather hold, your order will ship under specific conditions and at your own risk.
Temperature-Controlled Shipping
Temperature-controlled shipping is available for all eligible states excluding:
- California (CA)
- Nevada (NV)
- Arizona (AZ)
- New Mexico (NM)
- Washington (WA)
- Oregon (OR)
This method includes extended transit times (approximately 5 additional business days). For full details on this option, please refer to our shipping and delivery guide.
Age Verification
By law, all alcohol orders must be placed by individuals 21 years of age or older. By submitting an order, you certify that both the purchaser and recipient meet this requirement.
Delivery, Redirection & Return Policy
Delivery Requirements
- A signature from someone 21+ years old and/or valid ID is required upon delivery.
- Carriers cannot leave wine shipments unattended.
- We recommend using a business/daytime address for delivery.
Standard shipping is via UPS Ground, with delivery in 1–4 business days, depending on destination.
For 2-Day or Overnight shipping, please note that delivery timelines are based on transit time after shipment, not order placement.
Holiday Season Notice: During November and December, high volumes may cause delays. Please refer to tracking for real-time updates.
Package Redirection
If you need to redirect a shipment:
- Redirection must occur within the same state due to compliance laws.
- Redirection is not guaranteed by Tolosa Winery or the carrier.
- A $15 fee per package may apply.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring someone 21+ is available at the new address to accept the delivery.
Returned Shipments
Carriers will attempt delivery three times. If unsuccessful, the order is returned to sender.
To avoid this:
- Contact Customer Service before the third attempt to make alternate arrangements.
Returned packages incur a $25 fee per package plus the cost of reshipping.
Shipping to Carrier Stores
If choosing to ship to a FedEx or UPS store:
- The carrier selected must match the destination (e.g., UPS orders must go to UPS Stores; FedEx orders to FedEx Stores or Walgreens).
- Incorrect carrier pairings will be refused by the store.
Additional location-based fees may apply when shipping directly to or redirecting to a carrier store.
⚠️ Wine cannot be delivered to P.O. Boxes.
