El Coro Vineyard 2018 1.5L
Spanish for “The Chorus,” El Coro lives up to its name, delivering a harmonious balance of ripeness and acidity. The combination of this site’s location next to San Pablo Bay with the wind gusting from the Pacific Ocean, creates a cool climate that brings tension to the wine. The grapes are picked in small yellow bins and transported in a refrigerated truck to the winery. The fruit is sorted and fermented in open top, stainless steel tanks. The goal is to showcase the finesse and acidity from this site by managing the extraction rate. The wine spends 9 months in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels.
On the nose: Perfectly ripe raspberry, Rainier cherry and cranberry mixed with notes of roses, potpourri and a touch of anise
On the palate: The red fruits take on more wild strawberry and tart cherry flavors, while the freshness of the fruit and long finish proclaims the classiness of this wine
